Disclaimer: This video features imagery of caged chickens that may be upsetting to some viewers. Please watch at your own discretion.
When these people were asked to "get in a cage," they had no idea they were going to go through such an emotional roller coaster.
The good people at Animal Place rescue center, the same group of people who saved the lives of the two beautiful pigs, Anastasia and Wilbur, decided to offer a group of humans the opportunity to see what it feels like to live in the horrible conditions that over 95% of hens on egg farms experience.
Watching the faces of people who accepted the challenge is truly heartbreaking; many people don't know that six chickens often live forced into a small cage, where they spend two years of their life until they stop producing eggs. The people at Animal Place don't want to shock anyone, they just feel that by putting ourselves in the shoes of our fellow animals will create more empathy. They just want to get the word out that by forcing so many animals to suffer on huge factory farms, just so we can have cheaper omelets in the morning, might not be a stable way of doing things.
The people at Animal Place do their best to keep humans eating as healthy as possible, while also ensuring that our furry friends are treated with the respect that they deserve!
By stepping into these cages, the people in this video will have a new outlook the next time they go to buy some eggs at their local food store.
