Amy Adams from Almelund, MN, describes herself as the "World's Meanest Mom." Her 15-year-old daughter might even agree.
Adams' daughter was on her last chance. So when she skipped school, the mother became fed up. She decided to sell her daughter's truck on Craigslist, right after the daughter finally earned her license.
"[My daughter] decided that her grades don't matter, that she can disrespect myself and her siblings on a daily basis, and that she has the right to skip school and run away from home," Adams wrote in the ad. "If the person driving the truck on a daily basis will be attending North Branch High School next year, you will get a $300 discount. Why? Because I AM the World's Meanest Mom, and would love for her to be reminded every day next year of all the mistakes she made."
The mother believes parents should be parents and not act like friends. She knows this all too well because, well, she wasn't too nice to her own mom growing up.
"To my mom, I was short-tempered. I was snippy. And I was obnoxious," Adams says. "The moment they diagnosed her as terminal, we had that conversation. She’s been gone for, it will be 10 years this July."
She wants to discipline her daughter so she learns to behave more constructively.
"I hope she realizes that it's OK to discipline your kids. And it's OK to have expectations. And it's OK for them to have consequences," Adams says.
Many parents wrote Adams to give her a virtual high five. What do you think of this mother's disciplinary action? Let us know in the comments!
