After being away for so long, there really is nothing better than seeing a soldier reunite with their loved ones…especially when it takes them completely by surprise.
Who doesn't love seeing military families like this Air Force wife and her two kids get rewarded for being awesome?! Eitan and Ronit Urman of Scottsdale, Arizona are the proud parents of a U.S. soldier — and also huge hockey fans — so a recent game was the perfect setting to literally knock them off their feet.
The couple was invited to drop the puck before the Arizona Coyotes' game against the Anaheim Ducks, which they were told was because they had been season ticket holders for nearly 20 years. However, just like when this little girl was surprised by her dad when she threw out the first pitch, we know that anything can happen when the spotlight is shining.
Just as the Urmans walk out onto the ice, they hear the announcer say that a very special guest will be bringing them the puck. That's when U.S. Army Sergeant Dan Urman stunned his parents by running out and knocking his dad onto the ice, embracing him with a huge hug.
Dan had been deployed in Afghanistan for over five months, so seeing their son at the game was the last thing the Urmans expected.
If this happy military reunion doesn't make your heart sing, I don't know what will!
