Firefighter Pays For Grieving Family’s Hotel Room After He Answers Fatal 911 Call

The job of an emergency worker is filled with ups and downs. It can be difficult to handle the emotions that come with each call.

Not only are they dealing with their own feelings, but they're bound to be affected by the reactions of those around them as well.

No matter how much training you go through, there will always be a human piece that can't detach from the sadness and chaos around you.

And because of this, there are times when an emergency worker will go above and beyond the call of duty.

Like these firefighters who staged a mock response to help a military mom surprise her kids, or these firemen who stayed behind after a call to finish the yard work of a 90-year-old man who had fainted.

For firefighter Drew Kostal, his good deed left one grieving family with something to be grateful for.

After responding to an emergency call at a local hotel, Kostal knew that the man he'd been trying to save had passed away.

Instead of walking away from the situation after his job had been done, Kostal did something amazing.

The firefighter traveled back to the hotel and asked to pay for the man's hotel bill so that his family wouldn't have to. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made all the difference to one grieving family.
