If you’re someone who’s not quite convinced that there’s an afterlife, this story may just change your mind.
This video story posted by Wonderbot shares how a mother tragically lost her teenage daughter in a car crash and it wasn’t until months later that she uncovered her daughter’s secret project she had kept hidden in her bedroom.
Cindy Mathis was a dedicated and loving mother of two, Macy and Steve. Steve was three years older than Macy, but the age gap never posed a problem for the pair as they were completely inseparable.
Tragically, on a day in late November in 2016, Macy got into a horrific car accident with her boyfriend, Adam Sattler, in Tilton, Georgia.
After her death, her family found themselves deep in grief. In fact, her brother Steve was so bereaved that he decided to move to Europe to attend college in order to not be constantly reminded of his sister’s untimely death.
According to CBS News, approximately a month after her daughter’s death, Cindy found a forgotten letter that Macy had written her for her birthday the previous year. In fact, Cindy was lucky to have 25 notes all written by her daughter with different inscriptions, such as “Open when … you miss me.”

In the months prior to her tragic death, the 16-year-old had been working on her debut novel, a teen-oriented romantic story that she had planned to enter in a youth literature contest. So it’s really no wonder that Macy had given her mother such a heartfelt and personal gift filled with her inner most thoughts and feelings.
