The miracle of birth is something many of us won't witness in our lifetimes. But if we have animals at home, it's quite possible to catch the event for ourselves.
In 2013, YouTube user Elaine Wong posted a video of her hedgehog giving birth. She says that when she bought Coco, she had no idea the 6-month-old animal was pregnant.
She only realized that her beloved pet was in labor when she saw the first tiny baby come out. Little did she know there were three more coming!
The clip shows the hedgehog pressing her head against the glass as she gives birth to four little ones. If you watch her feet closely, you can catch the moment one of the hedgehogs comes out!
Coco gave birth to one all-black male and three white females. The user also says that the babies' quills popped out and hardened after a few hours. All the little ones survived, too!
Wong says that her beloved pet has since passed away. But her four offspring are all grown up and thriving at home.
