Firefighter Andrew Hartshorne was one of the first responders to arrive after a blazing fire broke out at a three story brownstone in Brooklyn. Multiple victims were trapped inside including an 8-month-old child. Hartshorne leaped into action, risking his life to remove the infant from the apartment, which was engulfed in flames.
Once outside, Hartshorne began CPR on the unconscious child. He was working against the clock, but the firefighter never gave up. Finally after six harrowing minutes, the infant coughed and began to show signs of life. The little boy was taken to the hospital and thanks to the firefighter's heroic efforts, he is alive and doing fine. Bravo!
