By now, I'm sure you've seen one (or many) "Ice Bucket Challenge" videos making the rounds online. As a way to spread the message about ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), these video challenges have been springing up everywhere. This is, hands down, the best one yet — because instead of seeing it done by a celebrity or even someone who's trying to help but doesn't know firsthand what this disease is like, here's someone who is actually battling ALS.
Kreg Palko has been fighting Lou Gehrig’s disease for more than two years. It has since left him with impaired speech and limited mobility. Here, watch as Palko and his daughter take part in the challenge.
Since this Internet phenomenon started, the ALS Association has experienced a 1,000 percent increase in donations.
