Daredevil Simon Turner took his adventures to a whole new level during a recent trip to the South Pacific. After he rappelled into the Marcum Crater in Vanuatu, he rewarded himself with some ice cold beer and roasted marshmallows. But instead of building a typical fire on his campsite, he roasted the marshmallows over the volcano's hot lava!
In the video, Turner used a spare tent peg and dangled the marshmallow over the lava lake. According to the New Zealand native, the lava's temperature is more than 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, so it didn't take him very long to toast the gooey treats. Bradley Ambrose, Turner's colleague, documented the whole event and captured the extreme adventure on camera.
Yeah, these guy just took "roasting over an open fire" to a whole new, extreme level. After roasting the marshmallow, Turner takes a bite and looks very satisfied with his final product. He licks his lips and fingers. "Mmm!" he says, smiling into the camera.
Would you ever have enough guts to do something like this? If you ask me, I'm completely fine with making s'mores around a bonfire at the beach at night or in the woods near a campsite.
