With Thanksgiving and the holidays just around the corner, families are spending time planning who will sit at the dinner table.
Vast preparations go into preparing for this valued family time: A menu must come together and the house needs to be swept clean, all with minimal damage made to the home. This is especially hard to do if you have kids!
Kids, even teens, can be rowdy and dirty, dragging all kinds of filthy things into common areas that are otherwise spotless.
And who cleans up? Mom, of course!
But one mother didn't want to deal with more work before the looming holidays. So she came up with a clever plan to minimize damages: She barred her family — including her teen son, Nick Denbow, and even the dog — from entering the living room.
Using a long note and some tape, she closed down the family room to keep it spotless for the holidays!

Nick Denbow walked into his family's home, expecting to sit in the living room. But he made a strange discovery instead.

His mother barred the entrance of the living room and attached a note with duct tape explaining why, and for how long.

The note officially barred the entire family, even the dog, from entering the room. She was tired of cleaning up after them and laid down some ground rules for anyone who wants to sit in there.

The room is closed until Thanksgiving!

The ground rules include wearing freshly laundered clothes, having showered, and not carrying any bad odors, among many others.
