Joseph Murawski was the former field director for the Old Bridge Soccer League. He and his wife were charged Monday with crimes related to making unauthorized withdrawals from the organization's accounts. Those funds were reportedly used for their personal leisure.

The police conducted a six-month investigation after the league alerted law enforcement of the missing money. Police say the Murawskis used the funds to buy gifts for their family.

A statement from Old Bridge police addressed the situation. “It was determined that the couple made unauthorized withdrawals of money from the league’s accounts to fund personal purchases, including, but not limited to, expenses related to a trip to Walt Disney World and other travel, an extravagant party for their child, Amazon purchases and utility bills for their home.”

The couple was taken to Middlesex County Correction Center. They are currently awaiting a detention hearing.

From the wife's Facebook page, it appears the couple has five kids. Three of their sons appeared to play soccer.

The soccer league is a nonprofit that spreads a love of soccer to youth around Old Bridge. It houses multiple fields off Ticetown Road.

A representative for the Murawskis could not be reached for comment and the Old Bridge Soccer League didn't immediately respond to request for comment. Anyone with information about the alleged crimes is asked to contact the Old Bridge Police Department.
