When friends, family, and even sometimes complete strangers ask about our lives, the attention can feel good.
Someone is taking time from their own busy life to ask about ours. It's nice, and looking after others is something that everyone should remember to do.
Of course, there's a limit to this. After a point, prying or repeated questions can become a bother, and they can feel invasive and irritating, and like your personal boundaries aren't being respected.
That was the case for one Imgur user who goes by the name marlboroprincess. She and her husband have been married for three years, and recently, people in their lives started asking them about when they were going to have a baby.
It wasn't just a few curious questions. According to marlboroprincess, the questions seemed to come from everyone all the time, and it was getting a little old.
So, she decided to poke a little fun at the whole situation, because why get mad when you can get funny?
Taking some cues from the always popular newborn photo shoots, which can take on all kinds of styles, she finally revealed to her friends and family that she was, in fact, welcoming a little bundle of joy into the world.
Only…it wasn't exactly who everyone expected.

Imgur user marlboroprincess and her husband have been married for three years, and, as she puts it, "everyone is bugging us about having a baby."
Repeated questions like this can be irritating or even upsetting, and so she decided to make a little statement of her own.
For inspiration, she looked to maternity shoot.
She had her sister snap these photos that make it look like she's about to announce a pregnancy, and in fact, marlboroprincess was about to announce an addition to the family…

But not the human kind!
The photos instead introduced new puppy, Leelu, who didn't seem to mind posing as the "baby."
"Close enough, right?" jokes marlboroprincess.

Of course, this isn't the first time a couple has turned the maternity or newborn photoshoot on its head.
Australian couple Abby Lee and Matt Kay also faced the incessant questions about having babies, and enlisted the help of photographer Elisha Minette to put their own spin on a new baby shoot.

Theirs starred Humphry, their new poodle-golden retriever mix puppy.
"We did this shoot for a little bit of humor between ourselves, as well as for those that share the same sense of humor as us," Minette explains.

Minette and the couple describe their shoot as a "lighthearted" parody of the classic newborn photo shoot, as well as a way to celebrate their new family member.

Photos like this are fun and unexpected, but they also remind us that while asking after other peoples' lives is a nice gesture, sometimes you have to know when to stop!
