Queen Elizabeth Just Might Disinvite Harry And Meghan From Her Jubilee Party Next Year

Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the British-based royal family are reportedly mighty concerned about Prince Harry's plans to write a tell-all memoir. Harry announced the book earlier this week, explaining the premise in a written statement:

"I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become. I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think."

Harry also added that he's really looking forward to the opportunity to share even more with the public:

"I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful."

Members of the royal family are said to be fairly panicked by Harry's announcement. It's not expected that Harry would have asked permission to write the book, and Buckingham Palace's team has only commented, "Any clarification about the book would be a question for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

Royal sources now believe that Harry's book announcement could push the Queen to ask Harry and Meghan to skip her Platinum Jubilee celebrations next year. The book is due around the same time the festivities are meant to take place, and some believe it's not tenable for the Queen to allow Harry and Meghan to come given the events of the last year or two.

A source told The Sun, "Everyone now thinks it is inconceivable that he and Meghan can be part of the Platinum Jubilee. Bringing it out in 2022 when the Queen is celebrating will dampen the party."

Royal author Penny Junor is also speaking out against the book, noting that she believes it's too early for Harry to even contemplate such a feat. "The family must be despairing," she said. "This is a man who they all love and he seems to be doing his best to embarrass and damage his family."

She added, "I think it's a bit early to be writing a proper memoir. I imagine it is self justification and it's exploring himself, and finding himself, but it's going to be, I suspect, at other people's expense."
