We all love when new movies are released. What tops them all is a new movie with four acting legends starring in it. Maybe I Do stars Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, William H. Macy, and Diane Keaton. The movie also stars Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey. Extra’s Jenn Lahmers got an exclusive interview with Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, and Susan Sarandon, discussing the topics of marriage and their dating lives.
When Jenn begins her interview with Diane, she starts off by saying, “Diane Keaton,” and right away Diane cuts her off and says, “Wait a second, no, no Diane Keaton, we’re gonna start out with your hair.” If I got to interview Diane Keaton and she started raving about my hair, my life would be complete.
Jenn then gets to interview Susan Sarandon and Richard Gere together and asks them, “Relationships are complicated, especially the longer you are in them, so how can the two of you relate to those themes?” Richard replies, “Well, I’ve been married three times.” Susan claims to never have been married and then quickly corrects herself and states, “No, I did marry Chris Sarandon.”
Following that, Richard gives us some insightful advice about being in a relationship. He explains that in any relationship, two things are always going on at the same time. The first being, "You as an individual are still trying to figure out who you are, always." Susan chimes in, adding, “And what you want, and what you need.” Richard then continues with asking, "And how do you share that with another person?"
Starting this video, I will say I was not expecting relationship pointers, but I’m pleasantly surprised with how wise these two individuals are. They both point out how, when you get married, you and your partner are constantly growing and changing, and you are not that same person that you were when you first got married. Sometimes you grow together, and other times you grow apart.
Jenn then takes the interview back to Diane Keaton, pointing out that Diane and Richard haven’t been in a movie together since 1977 in Looking for Mr. Goodbar. Diane admits to Jenn that she had a crush on Richard, but he did not seem interested back then! Diane then reveals that she hasn’t been on a date in 15 years and doesn’t seem to mind one bit. I 110% support that. You go, girl. Diane does not need a man!
