Woman Sees PTSD Service Dog In Restaurant & Flips Out On Retired Vet In Front Of Everyone

Sometimes there is just no reasoning with certain people, and that seems evident in this video shared by Inside Edition.

This video segment shares personal footage from a restaurant in which an Army veteran was verbally attacked for bringing his PTSD service dog, a Great Dane of large stature, into a dine-in seafood restaurant in Delaware City, Delaware.

The video footage shows a woman raising her voice repeatedly and telling retired Master Sergeant Bill Austin, who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, that “it’s disgusting to have an animal in a public restaurant.”

Inside Edition spoke to the veteran after the incident, and his initial concern was making sure that no one in the restaurant got hurt because it seemed to be a situation that was escalating quickly.

“We’ve never been screamed at like that. We’ve had people ask us questions or … comments about the dog because he’s so big, but we’ve never had anybody get in our face and just scream at us,” Bill’s wife, Janet, explains.

The offended party in the video was later identified as Sierra Miller. According to Fox 29 News, Sierra claims that during the incident, “a staff member and others immediately made the situation racial” by “making derogatory racial statements.”

Sierra claims that she got so upset because the dog’s behind got too close to her, and then things escalated due to the alleged racial slurs. However, Janet Austin told Inside Edition that “no one said anything racial in nature” that day.
