They may look like skaters who belong as extras in Disney On Ice, but make no mistake, these young women are about to blow you away…
As someone who struggles to keep up with the rest of the class in Zumba, I honestly can't wrap my head around synchronized ice dancing. I know it sounds like a crazy Olympic sport, but I've been seeing some really incredible synchronized skating videos like this one floating around, and they never cease to amaze me.
The following clip comes from the World Synchronized Skating Competition of 2012 in Götheborg, Sweden, where the hometown team is dressed in bright and colorful costumes for their routine. As the skaters gather in perfect lines on the ice, it's clear that their team of 16 young women has been practicing day in and day out.
However, they may seem serious, but they have a great surprise in store for the unsuspecting audience. Around 2:40, they gather in a perfect circle, while the music stops and changes and the tempo of their routine.
It completely boggles my mind that, just like these incredible male synchronized dancers from Japan, the team is able to stay in perfect formation throughout their entire routine.
I dare you to try and look away during this routine! Please SHARE this video on Facebook if you enjoyed it!
