High school is difficult for almost everyone, but few have had a harder four years than Griffin Furlong. When Gavin was 6, his mother died, and along with his father and brother, they had to live in shelters and moved around a great deal to stay financially afloat. Eventually, the family became homeless, something they would know on and off for many years.
Throughout his struggle, Griffin worked hard in the classroom, and never missed a day of school. The effort paid off, earning him a 4.65 GPA, which made him valedictorian of his graduating class. Unfortunately, more bad luck struck this year and he became homeless again. He said he knew he would be poor his whole life, so if he worked hard in school things could get better. He will graduate June 4th and attend Florida State University in the fall, but he has not yet received the scholarships needed to be able to afford it. Please SHARE if you want to help this brilliant and resilient young man.
