When parents are expecting their first child, there are so many worries running through their minds while they anxiously wait to meet the little one. Above that, though, is excitement.
Which is what makes it all the more upsetting when they decide to make their entrance to the world a bit too early. Or in some cases, far too early. It's so heartbreaking to see their frail bodies whisked away from their mom and dad for that emergency care that is so important for their survival.
After carrying her bundle for only six short months, mom Season Rahm greeted her daughter Olivia in a bittersweet arrival. However, despite all of the tubes and wires connected to her teeny-tiny child, she instantly knew her baby was going to fight hard to not only survive, but thrive.
And that's exactly what the now 3-year-old has done, as you can see in the photos and videos her proud mom shares on her Facebook.
After bringing Olivia into the world at just 24 weeks of pregnancy, it's clear that Season and her husband Christian were just as smitten as any other parents across the world would be with their bundle of joy — if not more so!
Season tells us here at LittleThings that her daughter, "has opened our eyes to all the color of the world. It's not black and white."
And Olivia hasn't let her health setbacks dampen the brightness that shines within her sparkling personality.
In fact, if it weren't for the tracheostomy tube on her neck, you would never guess this sweet face had gone through so much at such a young age.
Her smile hides all of the doctor's appointments, medications, and ailments that unfortunately plague her more regularly than most other children her age.
"It's her world," Season explains, "we just take note and watch in amazement at all she does."
Of course, it's not always fun when a small cold turns into something much worse without any warning, but the brave girl's resilience is nothing short of inspirational.
"She asked to do trach change on Elmo," her mom wrote while posting this precious photo, explaining this is their version of "normal." It's incredible to see the whole family embrace the adjustments to Olivia's life while still making sure she never misses out on anything every other child enjoys growing up. As Season puts it, "We are beyond blessed."
