There's just something about flowers that gives them so much more power than they should be able to hold in their petite petals.
Their bright colors and sweet smell work like magic, spreading joy and happiness wherever they go.
And we all know this. It shouldn't come as a surprise when we've seen flowers used for this very purpose for our entire lives.
We see them pop up in hospital rooms, on coworkers' desks on their birthdays, and in the hands of every proud parent at a graduation ceremony. They have a purpose, and they serve it well.
So when we hear of flowers being thrown away, it really doesn't make much sense.
Especially when you consider all of the people spending their days in hospitals or nursing homes who would just love to have some sweet flowers to look at throughout the day.
So when this former wedding planner saw massive amounts of flowers being thrown away at the end of each reception, she knew there was a better use for them out there.
Today, she collects these flowers, with the permission of the bride and groom, and makes sure that they make it to a nursing home or similar facility that can use them.
And when you see the patients' faces when they get their flowers? It truly is priceless.
