No matter how many viral videos you have seen, from romantic proposals to adorable little kids, funny and weird pets and incredible animal rescues, I guarantee you have never seen anything like this before!
You may have seen other whale encounter videos before, like the one where a family worked together to help out a humpback whale that became entangled in a very large rope, or an encounter that was a little bit scarier, like the video taken by a paddle boarder when he became surrounded by curious Orcas, but the thing that makes this video different is the way the whale interacts with humans.
It all started when fisherman Ivan Iskenderian and his friend Michael Riggio went out for a day of fishing and boating in Sydney's Middle Harbour, Roseville.
As they cruised around the area, they were approached by a very large Souther Right Whale, approximately 65 tons (or the size of a double decker bus).
At first, they thought the friendly whale was just checking out the boat, but after he lifted his head towards them multiple times, they realized he was asking for help!
The two men noticed a small plastic baggie along with some fishing line attached to the whales mouth and acted quickly, reaching out and pulling it away.
According to the two, the whale gave a few slaps on the water before swimming away, something they took as a "thank you" and wave goodbye!
