When kids get to a certain age, parents start teaching them how to be responsible for themselves around the house. I remember when my mom dragged me and my brother into the laundry room to explain the whole process and vowed to never wash another item of our clothing. We might have gone to school in dirty clothes now and then those first few weeks, but we eventually learned the importance of self-reliance.
For this dad in Ireland, he's decided to let his son figure out the vacuum on his own. You might be thinking that the simple task should be no problem for the kiddo, but the baffled youngster can't even manage to turn the machine on. Like other hilarious dads tend to do, he couldn't help but take the opportunity to play a joke at his son's clueless expense for a few moments. He instructs his son to pull on the electrical cord as if it were a lawn mower engine. Apparently this child has never seen a vacuum actually in use, because he totally falls for it!
He is totally convinced that this will eventually work if he keeps at it, trying again and again, but Dad eventually does take pity on the poor lad. It's a wonder the vacuum didn't break in the process! I can't imagine what was going through the young man's mind as he finally starts to clean up the mess on the floor, but it might be a while before he takes his dad's word again.
