Over the past decade, it's apparent that hand-drawn animation has become harder and harder to come by, with most cartoons and animated films created by digital animators. However, this video proves that hand-drawn animation is not a lost art, and might in fact be more fascinating than ever before!
You may not know animator Glen Keane, by name, but you know his work well. Keane has created some of the most iconic Disney characters, including Aladdin, Pocahontas, Ariel, Tarzan and The Beast, and recently came out of retirement to present this beautiful short film titled "Duet". The animated film, which Keane premiered at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco, evokes the old-school magic of Disney animated classics.
Duet is the latest in a series of Google ATAP’s Spotlight Stories, which feature interactive short films made exclusively for mobile devices. The film tells the story of Mia and Tosh, whose lives weave together beautifully from birth to adulthood.
