This DIY Crushed Shell Nail Trend Is About To Be Your New Favorite Style

It might be September, but if you're trying to make summertime last as long as possible, you'll certainly adore this nail trend below.

Sandi, the mastermind behind YouTube's CutePolish, demonstrates how to create a manicure using crushed seashells. And no, you don't have to crush the shells yourself – there are kits for that!

Luckily, this manicure is much easier to do than Sandi's trendy stone marble nails and her water spotted nail art. (If you haven't seen those, you should definitely check them out.)

As you ordinarily do for any manicure, first you apply a base coat for these shell nails. Then paint your nails with a polish. Sandi uses pink (which is my favorite), but it seems any color will do. After you apply the second coat of polish, pour some of the crushed seashells on the nail. You must do this when the nails are still wet so that the shells stick easily. Sounds pretty simple, right?

Finally, make sure to pay attention to the way she removes the excess shells from the nails. That little step is also fairly easy to do and completes the manicure.

Sandi suggests saving this trend for the summer, but if you're like me and love the beach, this is perfect all-year round. What do you think?
