Prince Harry Isolates In Canada After Coronavirus Exposure And Contact With Queen And Charles

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly "isolating" themselves at home in Canada following reports that Prince Harry may have been exposed to the coronavirus while back in England. A source says that Meghan has set up a strict set of rules for their staff at home and is requiring everyone to wear latex gloves and to limit their contact with Harry, herself, and Archie.

Meghan and Harry are also incredibly concerned about Harry's family in the UK. A family friend says that "Meghan said they are grateful, especially Harry, that they could spend time with his family before all this insanity began. Meghan said [Harry] has been in contact with the both his father and grandmother."

The friend continued, "He urged them to stay safe and to take extra precautions."

Yikes! It's pretty scary to imagine that Harry could have been exposed to the virus, let alone have passed it to his father and grandmother.

The friend also says that the two are still doing their best to help others, even though they can't leave home. "Meghan said just because they are isolating themselves, it doesn't mean they can't help. They aren't just sitting around at home doing nothing. She said they are working with a mental health non-profit to create some sort of online support system for those most vulnerable, like new mothers suffering from postpartum depression."

Harry reportedly may have come in contact with the virus when he attended an event with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. The event took place two days after Lewis came in contact with Idris Elba and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, taking a photo with the pair. Idris and Sophie have since tested positive for coronavirus.

So far, Meghan and Harry are fully on board with taking government advice as it pertains to the virus. A source told People, "Like everyone, they are taking government advice, and if and when they are specifically made aware of being in contact with someone who has tested positive they will act accordingly."

While attending the Commonwealth Day celebrations earlier this month, Prince William and Kate Middleton notably didn't shake hands with their other attendees. This followed William's earlier joke about how the pair were possibly spreading the virus. The joke didn't really go over well with many.

News of Harry's possible exposure to the virus also comes amid reports that Princess Anne is not letting the coronavirus slow her down one bit. While the Queen and other royals have canceled their public engagements, Anne has still been out and about quite frequently. Maybe she's not worried about the virus?

Princess Anne is vice patron of the British Horse Society and visited the Addington Equestrian Centre to watch a horseback riding demonstration. She also spoke with several staff members and the education team from the British Horse Society. At a time when so many are staying home, it's pretty wild to see 69-year-old Anne still going about her daily jobs.

Harry and Meghan have also updated their Instagram page with a message of support for, well, everyone. The caption of the post reads:

“These are uncertain times. And now, more than ever, we need each other. We need each other for truth, for support, and to feel less alone during a time that can honestly feel quite scary. There are so many around the world who need support right now, who are working tirelessly to respond to this crisis behind the scenes, on the frontline, or at home. Our willingness, as a people, to step up in the face of what we are all experiencing with COVID-19 is awe-inspiring. This moment is as true a testament there is to the human spirit.”

The pair goes on to write:

“We often speak of compassion. All of our lives are in some way affected by this, uniting each of us globally. How we approach each other and our communities with empathy and kindness is indisputably important right now.

"Over the coming weeks, this will be our guiding principle."

And they also say that in the coming weeks, they will be sharing resources with their followers, which is right in line with their general sense of altruism.

“We will be sharing information and resources to help all of us navigate the uncertainty: from posting accurate information and facts from trusted experts, to learning about measures we can take to keep ourselves and our families healthy, to working with organisations that can support our mental and emotional well-being.

"In addition, we will focus on the inspiring stories of how so many of you around the world are connecting in ways big and small to lift all of us up."

And as they note, we are truly all in this together:

“We are all in this together, and as a global community we can support each other through this process – and build a digital neighbourhood that feels safe for every one of us.

"We look forward to sharing more over the days and weeks to come…"
