On a snowy beach in Canada, a scared little doe has been given a second chance at life, thanks to the caring locals of Pointe-Verte, NB.
Due to the heavy snowfall in recent weeks, the deer population of Pointe-Verte has been forced out of the forest and onto the beach in search of food. During the daytime, the deer fear crossing the road to return to the forest, and thus walk along the dangerous coastline instead.
Unfortunately, as she walked along, this doe fell through and ended up completely buried in the snow. Passerby Jacques Roy watched the dramatic moment unfold, at first assuming the deer had drowned — then realized she was still alive!
Jacques wasted no time. He and a team of friends rushed out to the doe, rope and a sled in hand, and got to digging.
Their amazing rescue, captured in the video below, nearly brought me to tears.

The frozen deer lay trapped within the thick snow, freezing, exhausted, and unable to move.
The local villagers didn't bother waiting for the Department of Natural Resources, opting instead to start digging into the snow with their hands.
Once safely removed from the snow, the rescues covered the sweet doe — now named Francoise — in a wool blanket and some hay. Be sure to watch her shocking rescue below!
