Gayle King and Oprah Winfrey have been best friends for decades. The two are so close that Gayle named Oprah godmother of her two children, Kirby and William.
Recently, Gayle became a grandmother to little baby Luca. Strangely enough, Oprah is not the child's godmother, however.
Gayle explained that the reason is simple: Gayle doesn't want Oprah to have the role. "Well, she's already godmother to my favorite son and favorite daughter, so I don't see her being godmother to the grandchildren."
Fair enough! Obviously, Oprah will be around for the baby's life anyway. Gayle opened up to Stephen Colbert about how her bestie celebrated her grandson's arrival.
