Malala Yousafzai and her husband, Asser Malik, were among those who attended the 2023 Oscars on March 12, 2023.
Many were surprised when comedian Jimmy Kimmel seemingly targeted Malala during the broadcast. While it was clear that Jimmy did so in jest, his joke didn't exactly land well with some people who were watching at home.
Jimmy asked the 25-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner, "Your work on human rights and education for women and children is an inspiration. As the youngest Nobel Prize winner in history, I was wondering, do you think Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine?"
Malala appeared to enjoy the joke, and replied, "I only talk about peace."
The incident in question dates back to the press tour for the movie Don't Worry Darling. At one point, Harry Styles was accused of deliberately spitting on costar Chris Pine.

Chris has since denied that this is what happened. As he's said, "Harry did not spit on me."
