Sometimes doing the right thing can put you in a tough position.
This video story posted by Wonderbot shares how a pizza delivery man risked his job by saving an older woman trapped in a fire.
Andrew Butler stood outside his manager’s office at BBQC Pizza in North Carolina as he contemplated whether or not he should walk in there and finally ask for a raise. It’s not like he was the perfect employee, but Andrew knew that he worked hard, and customers appreciated his diligence. He just wasn’t sure that his boss Mr. Morse saw those same attributes.
Andrew was a single, widowed father of five children, and even though child care wasn’t an issue due to a kind neighbor, he found himself growing warier of all of the house bills that had been piling up.
That day, Andrew grabbed his list of deliveries and pizza boxes and set out on his motorcycle. As he drove, he suddenly spotted smoke coming from a nearby house. The house wasn’t quite on his pizza route, but he also didn’t have it in him to simply keep riding. He knew he had to stop and see if he could help.

Andrew quickly called emergency services but realized a woman was stuck inside the house in a wheelchair. Without really thinking, he covered himself in his jacket and ran into the house to help the woman. Luckily, both he and the woman made it out of the house safely.
When things finally calmed down, Andrew looked at his phone and noticed about a dozen missed calls from Mr. Morse. This made Andrew incredibly nervous.
