Jerry Springer Appears To Read Will That Leaves His Assets To 2 Secret Children In Video

Many do not know Jerry Springer served as the mayor of Cincinnati in 1977-78 because he is best known for his trashy but entertaining self-titled talk show, which ran from 1991 to 2018. This show was all drama, hair pulling, and paternity tests. Jerry died from pancreatic cancer in 2023, but he's making waves even from beyond the grave.

A clip of a virtual play reading has recently gone viral. In this clip, Jerry can be heard reading a will that gives the majority of his assets to two African American children he had out of wedlock, which is part of the fictional play and not based in reality. Twitter, however, went wild and mistook this for truth.

The truth of the video is it was a reading of a play titled Blood Money that was conducted on Zoom during the pandemic. It was part of Tulane University’s program REFRAMED 2020: A Festival of New Plays on Social Justice. Jerry made a cameo appearance because he was an alumni of the institution.

Misguided Twitter users jumped at the clip.

“Only Jerry Springer could go out like this,” wrote one.

“Bro, this man just gave us the best episode of Jerry Springer YET,” quipped another.

In real life, Jerry fathered only one child, a daughter named Katie Springer whom he shared with ex-wife Micki Velton. Katie is now 47 years old and works as a schoolteacher. She likes to keep a low profile but was seen cheering on her dad from the audience when he competed on the third season of Dancing With the Stars in 2006.
