Ariana Grande Admits To Getting ‘A Ton’ Of Botox In Emotional New Video

Ariana Grande is a pop culture icon who got her big break in the 2008 Broadway musical 13. She would go on to play Cat Valentine in the hit Nickelodeon series Victorious, cementing her fame. Because she was in the limelight from a young age, she felt the pressure to look a certain way.

On September 12, 2023, Ariana appeared in a Vogue Beauty Secrets video and opened up about her use of Botox, fillers, and beauty products in general. She no longer feels the need to use cosmetic injectables or a ton of makeup. This revelation made her tear up when talking about it.

"Full transparency as a beauty person, as I do my lips," Ariana mused while applying makeup. "[I've] had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox. I stopped in 2018 because I just felt so — too much. I just felt like [I was] hiding, you know?"

Ariana got teary when talking about this, which surprised her. She "didn't expect to get emotional.” Ariana went on to say she used to believe beauty was all about hiding.

"I, over the years, used makeup as a disguise or as something to hide behind," Ariana revealed. She also used over-the-top hairstyles to accomplish the same outcome. "More hair, more and more, [the] thicker the eyeliner … and that can be so beautiful at times and I still do have love for it."

Ariana’s taste in makeup and hairstyles has mellowed in part because of embracing who she truly is and not listening to the opinions of others. She does not feel the need to hide anymore. "Being exposed to so many voices at a young age and especially when people have things to say about your appearance and stuff at a young age, it's really hard to know what's worth hearing or not, but when you're 17, you don't really know you don't know that yet," she explained.

For Ariana, the intention behind beauty has changed. "I think of it as self-expression now and accentuating what is here,” she stated. ”Our relationships to beauty are so personal, like we're here talking about beauty secrets, isn't the secret that we all just want to feel our best and be loved?"

That does not mean she judges those who use cosmetic injectables. "To each their own, whatever makes you feel beautiful, I do support, but I know for me I was just like, oh, I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines," Ariana went on to say. "I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper. And I laugh more and more and I just think aging can be such a beautiful thing."

Ariana is also not ruling out more cosmetic procedures further down the line. "Now, might I get a facelift in 10 years? Might, yeah! But these are just thoughts that I feel like we should be able to discuss," she said. "If we're sitting here talking about beauty secrets, [expletive] it let's lay it all out there."
