Family traditions are so important and fun. Bindi Irwin is carrying on tradition with her daughter Grace. The Irwin family celebrates half birthdays proclaiming them “unbirthdays.” The Mad Hatter and Alice would be so proud.
The reality star took to Instagram on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, to share Grace’s 2½ birthday celebrations. Grace got to go on a stuffed animal shopping spree with mom and dad Chandler Powell at Australia Zoo's Elephant Gift Shop. It was pretty adorable.
Bindi posted a reel of the whole shopping experience. Grace got so many stuffed animals she couldn’t hold all of them in her little arms. "We have a family tradition of celebrating ‘unbirthdays’ when you turn a half ❤️," Bindi captioned the video. "Happy two and a half unbirthday to our beautiful Grace Warrior."
"So much happiness in one video. I love you both ❤️," Chandler gushed in the comments. Bindi and Chandler first met as teenagers when he visited the zoo. He was a professional wakeboarder and was in Australia to compete. The pair hit it off instantly and stayed in touch over the years before it became something more when Chandler started college in Florida.

Bindi and Chandler maintained a long-distance relationship until he moved down under in 2018. The pair were married in an intimate ceremony in 2020. Grace was born the following year, on her parent’s one year wedding anniversary.
