Man Sees 2 Boys Gathering Wood, He Follows Them And Breaks Down In Tears

Ben and Jack Anderson were two brothers, ages 10 and 12, who lived with their mother in a wooded area near Aberdeen, North Carolina. Their mother, Rebecca, was a widow as the boys’ father died, which left their family in dire financial straits.

When Rebecca tried to reenter the workforce, she was over 55 years old and had been a stay-at-home mom for most of her adult life. She didn’t have a lot of practical work experience and found it difficult to find a job to support her and her boys.

One night at dinner, Rebecca told her sons that she thought she might try her hand at taking on some carpentry projects as she had spent nearly 20 years unofficially working as her husband’s apprentice. She felt like she was good with her hands and thought she could take on some commission projects to help pay the bills.

“We believe in you, Mom,” Jack told Rebecca. That day, her boys promised to help their mom with whatever she needed in hopes of bringing their family success.

Things didn’t go as the Anderson family had hoped. A lot of local families had already moved on to someone else for their carpentry needs or they didn’t quite trust that Rebecca could deliver quality work as her husband once did.
