Christy Carlson Romano was a child actor who is best known for her work on the Disney Channel shows Kim Possible and Even Stevens. These days she has a different role that she just loves: mom. She is the mother of Isabella, 7, and Sofia, 5, whom she shares with husband Brendan Rooney.
In 2020, Christy and Brendan made the decision to move their family to Austin, Texas. Christy said the move felt “right” for their family. She loves the slower pace of life there.
“I love that the girls can kind of be out of the Hollywood area,” she told People. “I love California, we have our PodCo offices there. And I also truly feel at home in Austin. I have a really strong community of friends there, and I've really found a way to set down roots.”
Christy loves being a mom and also values her work. Christy and Brendan own a podcast company called PodCo. Christy has her own podcast called Vulnerable, on which she talks about her time as a Disney star. This has brought her closer to her fans, which her daughters just see as part of their lives.
“Something I've realized is that my daughters think it's normal for people to come up to me because I'm so friendly to my fans,” Christy explained. “My fans, especially since I started doing YouTube and podcasts, are so supportive and loving to me. And so my girls, I don't think they're freaked out about it because it just kind of feels like to them that I am talking to someone I know.” To Isabella and Sofia, Christy will always be just mom.

Christy feels the pressures of parenthood just like every other mom. She confessed it can be “scary” and complicated sometimes. "I have multiple children and I work, and so I want to always make sure that they have a very balanced life,” she explained. Living in Austin has allowed her to do that. "I'm really happy that we live there," she concluded.
