Brooke Shields and husband Chris Henchy share two adult daughters, Grier and Rowan Henchy. Rowan is 20 years old and Grier is 18. The family is extremely close.
Brooke appeared on the May 2, 2024, episodes of Sirius XM’s Jess Cagle Show and opened up about her bond with her adult daughters. She revealed her daughters still even like to sleep in her bed when their father is away. Brooke will always be their mom, no matter how grown up they get.
“My younger daughter [Grier] just turned 18,” Brooke explained. “You know, the minute my husband is on any type of work trip or gone or something, they still sleep in the bed with me. We still watch rom-coms. They’re my babies and they will never not be.”
Soon, both young women will be off at college. Rowan started at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2021. Brooke is a little in denial about this. “Yeah, I’ve been avoiding thinking of it because people will say to me, ‘Oh, you’re gonna be so relieved,’ and I just don’t see it happening,” she said. She is going to miss them.

Brooke also knows her kids will come back to visit and maybe even move back in someday because of the current state of the economy. “I was like, ‘Well, they’re still gonna come back,’ and by the way, the cost of just living in this city is so prohibitive anyways that it may work in my favor,” she mused.
Both of her daughters have grown up in the spotlight. Grier is even following in her mother’s footsteps and modeling. She and Brooke appeared together in a Victoria's Secret campaign in 2022.
