Colton Underwood and his husband Jordan C. Brown are looking forward to becoming dads. The couple recently announced that they are expecting their first child together via surrogate. The Bachelor alum, 32, and his husband, 38, got married on May 13, 2023.
Colton came out as gay in April 2021. Speaking to People, Colton revealed that "to be able to say we're pregnant is really big and really emotional" because his desire "to be a father was something that kept [him] in the closet for a long time."
Colton told the outlet that their family and friends are "so excited" — and he and his husband are, too, as they "both wanted to be dads." Colton also shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, May 21, writing, "our little boy is coming this fall "
"It’s a fun time in our lives,” Colton shared with People. He said that they've already picked out a name for their son, but they're waiting to share it with everyone. For now, “Jordan is referring to him as Baby B," because the name they've picked out starts with a B, People reported. However, they also have a few other names picked out in case they change their minds.

Colton previously spoke to Variety about how he always wanted a family, but he "never knew that was possible until [he] came out and got to lean into [his] truth."
Colton also recently spoke up about his fertility issues when speaking to Men's Health. He told the outlet that he is sharing his fertility issues and journey to fatherhood publicly because he knew people might have questions, he thought it would be fun, and as a child, he didn't see men talking about masculinity or fatherhood in this way.
“For me, having the experiences that I have from both the church and football, I’ve dealt with a lot of the toxic masculinity,” he told Men's Health. "I know that phrase gets overused quite a bit, but there’s very much still stigma and things that go on in the sports culture, specifically. Just giving our child the freedom to express themselves and to be pure is what I want.”
He started the podcast Daddyhood to talk about his fertility and parenting journey. His podcast is a place where he can answer questions that he has heard.
“I had my own family asking me how this process works, like, who’s the mom and who’s the dad in the relationship? Who’s the boy and who’s the girl? How does the mom work? Are the egg donor and surrogate the same?" he told Men's Health.
In a statement shared with HuffPost, he said the experience has been a "rollercoaster of emotions," but he and his husband look forward to welcoming their baby boy in October.
“Jordan and I are looking forward to all the little moments ― like holding, feeding, and changing him. But above all, we’re most excited to show him just how loved he already is," he said in the statement shared with HuffPost.
Colton also reflected on the "beautiful friendship” he and his husband share with their surrogate when speaking to People.
"She's an incredible human being,” he told the outlet, adding that "[pregnancy] is scary for two men who don't even have to go through it so that just proves how incredible these women are, not only our surrogate but all the surrogates out there, all the moms out there."
