’20 Bucks I Marry Sarah’ — Man Makes Good On ‘Legendary’ HS Yearbook Bet 6 Years Later

Cade Wessel recently married his high school sweetheart, and on some level, he always seemed to know that he would. Though he's now 24 years old, he predicted that he would marry Sarah when he was a high school senior.

During his senior year of high school, he had to submit his yearbook quote. He decided to write, "Twenty bucks I marry Sarah Dill." In an exclusive interview with People, he explained that while some of his friends chose quotes that seemed "funny" or "profound," he decided he would do something "legendary."

Cade and Sarah met when they were in middle school, but were friends for many years before they started dating as high school seniors in 2018, reported People.

In retrospect, they realize that when Cade submitted his yearbook quote, they had only been dating for a few weeks.

The fact that they hadn't been dating for long didn't seem to matter to Cade. He told People that he knew how he felt and "wasn’t nervous" about documenting it in his high school's yearbook.

Sarah, 24, told the outlet that marrying Cade feels like "it’s literally right out of a rom-com." But "when you know, you know," she added.

The couple's wedding photographer, Olivia Derocher, posted about the romantic story on Instagram. Her reel includes an image of Cade's yearbook quote and an image of him holding a $20 bill on his wedding day.

"This is literally the most incredible thing i’ve ever seen," one person commented on the post. "He was SO sure."

"Story book fairytales sometimes come true," another Instagram user pointed out.
