During a recent appearance in North Carolina, President Donald Trump once again shared details that absolutely no one asked for. He was talking about the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago resort in 2022, and somehow started describing his wife Melania Trump’s “panties” in explicit detail. At first, he referenced her “drawers,” but in case it wasn’t clear what he was talking about, he clarified that he was referring to “her undergarments, sometimes referred to as panties,” which are “so perfect,” by the way.
He claimed that the FBI “looked at her drawers.”
During his speech, he credited himself with changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico so it’s now the Gulf of America. He said he didn’t do this during his first term because he had “bigger problems” with “these animals trying to attack me at Mar-a-Lago.”
Then, he claimed that “they went into my wife’s closet.” He admitted that what he was about to say would sound “a little strange” (which is a bit of an understatement), and then proceeded to say that “they looked at [Melania’s] drawers.” He laughed and then pretended to hold up an imaginary pair of underwear.
Trump described his wife as “a very meticulous person.”
For some reason, Trump then went into detail about how Melania takes care of and folds her undergarments. “Everything is perfect,” he continued. “Her undergarments, sometimes referred to as panties, are folded perfect, wrapped. They’re, like, so perfect.”
He added that it’s “beautiful” and said Melania’s habits are due to “the part of the world she came from.” Emphasizing just how “perfect” they look, he also said “I think that she steams them.”
Apparently, when they came home after the FBI raid, Melania’s undergarments were no longer “perfect;” they were “a mess.” Trump claimed that his wife said, “Oh, what happened? That’s so terrible.”
People on social media reacted to the rant.
On Reddit, people were genuinely confused as to why Trump went on and on about Melania’s underwear. “Well that is something to add to the wiki. First president to talk about the first ladies panties. Congrats, weirdo,” someone wrote. People wondered how Republicans would’ve reacted if a Democratic president had done the same thing while in office. “The President of the United States talked about his wife’s panties in a speech to the world. And this is ok?” one person questioned. “What if Biden, Obama or Clinton said the same thing?”
Some people were embarrassed for Trump — and for his wife, who was probably not expecting her husband to tell the whole world about her underwear. “Talking about his wife’s panties at a public event is peak Trump brain,” another critic said. “I’m embarrassed for him again. How is this normal to anyone?”
At this point, the seemingly random topic is not even all that surprising to people, but it’s getting old. “This dude can’t even give a speech without being creepy and unhinged. And MAGA wonders why people are exhausted,” someone else commented.
