A prison guard who previously went viral after she was filmed having sex with an inmate has some regrets. Linda De Sousa Abreu, 32, was working at HMP Wandsworth, a prison in England, when she developed an admittedly “inappropriate” relationship with Linton Weirich, 38.
Weirich claimed that he and the prison guard had sex “a few times” before one of their encounters was filmed, according to an exclusive report from The Sun. Looking back on the situation now, De Sousa Abreu, who is also a mom and had an OnlyFans account with her husband, told the publication that she feels “very embarrassed” by what happened.
Weirich says that their relationship started after she allegedly brought him food.
He told The Sun that “corrupt” staff members at the prison would bring things in and sell them to inmates for extra money. According to him, De Sousa Abreu started bringing food to inmates, and he liked the attention he got from her at the time.
“Any attention when you are in that situation is welcome and that’s what Linda gave me,” he said. “She used to bring in Nando’s and Chinese meals for inmates.”
Weirich also said he managed to buy a phone while in prison. Allegedly, De Sousa Abreu knew he had this phone and got his name from someone else working at the same prison. He told the publication that he and De Sousa Abreu started communicating via Snapchat.
“We talked about what she was up to,” he recalled. “She was into her gym. Her banter was flirty.” Although he took this to mean that she was interested in him, he also assumed she had other reasons for developing this relationship with him. “It was obvious she liked me but I think she also wanted someone to look out for her on the landing,” he said. “She asked me to sort out an inmate who spat on her, so I did.”
But De Sousa Abreu told the story differently.
In January 2025, she was sentenced to 15 months in jail. She spent five months in jail, then was released on probation. When asked whether she had texted the inmate and communicated with him on social media, she responded, “Listen, the police had my phone for over a year. Everything that I was charged for was what I went guilty for, which was an inappropriate relationship with Linton.”
She went on to say that she regrets the inappropriate relationship. “That was my fault and that’s what I went guilty for, and that’s as far as it went,” she said. “I had sex with someone I shouldn’t have had sex with and I had an inappropriate relationship, but I didn’t do anything else.”
De Sousa Abreau also described unpleasant working conditions at the prison. She said that at the time she was working there, the prison was “very understaffed” and therefore “hard to manage.”
She told the publication, “Everyone’s doing something. I regret everything I did. I’m incredibly embarrassed.”
Now, she’s trying to live a normal life.
“I’ve just been keeping a low-key life,” she told the publication. “I just want to get on with my life. I want to keep being a good mom to my child.”
Weirich told the publication that he had a partner when the viral sex tape was filmed, and his partner was also pregnant at the time. He said he didn’t want the sexual encounter between him and the prison guard to be filmed, but another inmate filmed it and seemingly shared it anyway. “I had a pregnant partner and didn’t want it getting out,” he said. “Linda knew it was being filmed but didn’t seem to care about it or her job.”
He described it as “the biggest regret of my life” and said “it damaged everything.”
