Gisele Bündchen Doesn’t Mention Tom Brady In Her Father’s Day Post

It’s pretty clear that people are divided on whether to include an ex in a Father’s Day (or Mother’s Day) post on social media. Gisele Bündchen took to Instagram on Father’s Day, and much to some people’s dismay, she didn’t mention her ex-husband Tom Brady, whom she shares two children with. Instead, she focused on Joaquim Valente, her current husband and the father of her youngest child.

To some people, this is a fairly normal thing to do. Not everyone thinks it’s necessary to publicly recognize your ex on social media (after all, we don’t know exactly what’s happening in their private lives). But others found the post extremely “disrespectful” to her ex-husband and the children they share.

In her post, Gisele recognized her current partner, along with her own father.

“Happy Father’s Day @joaquimvalente !” she wrote. “Thank you for leading by example, and for the values you embody, love, humility, integrity, discipline, kindness and consistency. You are an incredible role model. We are all so grateful for you, and we love you so much.”

Then, she also added, “And dad, thank you for your unconditional love, wisdom, and support through every stage of my life.”

Some people immediately noticed that Tom was excluded from this. “Don’t forget the father of your other kids,” one critic commented on the post. “He helped raise them too.” Though, to be fair, Gisele technically recognized all dads, which presumably includes Tom as well.

She concluded her post with, “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. ❤️”

But this wasn’t good enough for some people.

In fact, it’s very clear that several people found Gisele’s post outright offensive because she made no mention of her ex-husband. “nah this is crazy,” one critic commented, seemingly referencing the apparent snub. “You’re disrespectful to your children’s Dad,” someone else wrote.

“What about the dad to all your other kids?” a third commenter said. “What a joke.”

Excluding Tom from the post felt way too “harsh” to people, and some commenters even accused her of being a bad mom for leaving the father of two of her children out of the post.

“You present yourself as the epitome of love and kindness,” someone added. “Yet, it seems rather hypocritical and petty of you to snub the father of two of your children on Father’s Day. So much for appearances.”

Gisele and Tom filed for divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. They welcomed their son, Benjamin, in 2009, and their daughter, Vivian, in 2012.

While some people clearly thought Tom deserved to be included in the post, others seemed to have no issue with it.

In spite of the backlash, some fans think it’s OK to move on. They were happy for Gisele, with a few even noting that she appears to be glowing.

“She finally got what she needed and I love that for her,” one person commented. “It’s so good to see you so happy!!” someone else wrote.

And another supportive commenter added, “Must say, l don’t think I’ve ever seen this glow on her, ever! ❤️”
