No one expects Donald Trump and his family to hide their extreme wealth, but when many Americans are suffering from economic troubles and others are worrying about housing, education, and employment, it’s a little much to see Ivanka Trump riding a horse on a beach without a care in the world. That’s what she posted on X, and the internet had a whole lot to say.
They had even more to say about the video because Ivanka kept comments turned off from the moment she posted it. The video itself isn’t long, and it features Ivanka riding a horse at breakneck speed. At one point, she lets go and has her arms in the air, and some have even questioned if the video is real. After another user shared the video on X, people commented that they couldn’t share under Ivanka’s original post.

In her video, Ivanka rides her horse while the Coldplay song “Viva La Vida” is on in the background. And for some, it’s a big old slap in the face to Americans who have so very little and continue to struggle. Maybe that’s why she didn’t turn on the comments on her original post with the video.
The user who re-posted the video wrote, “Americans: We can’t afford gas, food or tuition. Trump Family: here’s a video of Kai’s luxury dorm, Ivanka riding a horse and we’re also gonna rename both New Mexico and Lake Ontario ‘America.'”
And if we break down the song, which translates to “live life,” that also feels intentional for those who already can’t stand most of the Trump family as a whole. Some users commented to share that they believe this is another “let them eat cake” moment, meant to throw the family’s wealth and privilege in the face of Americans who are struggling.
Others agreed that Ivanka and the rest of the Trump family post on social media to rub their wealth in the faces of those who have much less. This is also another reason, according to those same users, why Ivanka opted to turn off the comments.
The Trump family was called out for being “out of touch.”
The person who re-posted Ivanka’s horseback riding video replied to users in the comments and shared, “It’s so insane how out of touch our ruling class is. I finally understand the French Revolution.”
“Rubbing it in our faces is (seriously) a humiliation ritual that they enjoy greatly,” another X user claimed in the comments.
Someone also pointed out Kai Trump’s college apartment tour that Donald Trump’s granddaughter posted on social media. They wrote, “Yeah it’s bad messaging and so stupid to rub this into [the] wounds of average Americans worried about finances. The Kai dorm in Miami is about 12k-14k per month alone.”
“Does she ever work?” Another added. “I only see her vacationing.”
The reason behind Ivanka Trump’s horseback riding video has people stumped.
In a Reddit post about Ivanka’s horseback riding video, users discussed why the Trump family behaves in a way that flaunts their generational wealth while Trump himself is leading a country of people who are nowhere near as well off as he is. Some commented to say that the Trump family “flaunts” what they have and what is given to them simply because of the family name.
Others commented to say that they hope there is someday “justice” against Trump for the state of the country. Mostly, though, critics are tired of seeing the family showcase their wealth to the rest of the world.
