President Donald Trump gave a lengthy speech at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas on September 9, but one relatively short comment he made is getting a lot of attention on social media.
During his speech, Trump seemingly made a joke about his “weak spot” and told the crowd that he wasn’t going to tell them what his is. But a lot of people online think they know exactly what Trump’s “weak spot” is. In fact, his critics identified multiple possibilities.
Trump listed some examples of other people’s “weak spots.”

In a viral clip shared on X, Trump says, “Whether it’s wine, champagne, cars, it was always something. Everybody’s got a weak spot. Remember that in life. Everybody has a weak spot. I won’t tell you what my weak spot is.”
After saying this, he launched into his usual spiel about how “America is respected again.”

Although Trump said he would not be speaking about his personal weak spot, people had their own ideas about the topic and were eager to share. The theories were honestly quite varied, perhaps because his critics think he has a lot of them. Some of the commenters focused more on Trump’s flaws. “Staying awake during meetings?” one account wrote in response. Someone else said, “His brain? Morals?”
And a third critic chimed in with, “Soaring debt? Unaffordable groceries and gas? Fraud? We could go on and on.”
Others, however, took “weak spot” to mean something that Trump is drawn to and really cares about. In theory, this would be something that could be used to pressure or sway him. Responses focused on that interpretation looked quite a bit different. “Dictators?” another person questioned. “No, wait. Ivanka? No, wait. KFC and Big Macs?”

A response that reads, “According to the Epstein files, it’s children,” has garnered more than 222,000 likes and has been reposted more than 32,000 times. Multiple commenters had similar reactions to the clip.
“We know, it’s in the Epstein files,” someone else wrote. The alleged birthday card that Trump reportedly crafted for Epstein years ago also resurfaced in the comments. The card reads, “Happy Birthday— and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
In addition to generating a considerable amount of conversation about the Epstein Files again, Trump’s “weak spot” comment also led to a lot of criticism of how he talks about and interacts with women, including his daughter Ivanka Trump and aide Natalie Harp.
“Blonde women named Natalie??” one commenter wrote. Meanwhile, another person said Trump’s “weak spot” is clearly “Ivanka lookalikes.”
The way Trump talks about men has also drawn significant attention during his second term, so that came up in the comments too. Some of Trump’s critics have argued that he is easily influenced by powerful men. One Trump critic confidently asserted that one of Trump’s “weak spots” appears to be “bad guys.”
It’s not clear exactly what Trump meant when he made the comment, but his critics are clearly convinced that his “weak spot” is not exactly a secret.
