President Donald Trump says some pretty unhinged things on a daily basis, but a recent comment he made had some people convinced that it couldn’t possibly be real.
For some reason, Trump actually made a threesome joke about his own sons. Yes, really. The joke was so unexpected, even for him, that it quickly went viral on social media. Some people actually assumed it must have been made up or taken out of context. “every time i see a quote on a video like this, i think surely that cannot be what he actually said surely this has to be a weird paraphrase,” one person wrote on X. “it never is.” Yikes.
So what was Trump actually talking about?

The president was speaking in Medora, North Dakota in honor of the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. Trump commented on how General Douglas MacArthur and his father, Arthur MacArthur Jr., and Roosevelt and his son, Theodore “Ted” Roosevelt III, are the only father-son pairs who have received the Medal of Honor, which is the highest military decoration in the United States.
He tried to say that maybe he and his sons should receive it, which some people found offensive enough on its own. “This is an insult to everyone who has ever served in the US Army,” one critic wrote on X. Someone else sarcastically wrote, “Definitely spoke like a guy with a deep, abiding respect for our military heroes.”
Then, Trump made it even worse by talking about having a threesome.

With his sons. “Except for Arthur and Douglas MacArthur … they’re the only father and son pair to receive our nation’s highest military award for courage above and beyond the call of duty,” Trump said during his speech. “Now, as I see my two beautiful sons sitting there, I think I’m going to give one to myself, one to them, and we’ll have a threesome.”
He later added that he was joking, and said he should be more careful because the “fake news” likes to publish stories about his jokes. However, it doesn’t seem that this fear has actually stopped him from telling offensive jokes, unless he’s actually telling them less often than he would otherwise?
“I’m only kidding,” he said. He added, “This is dangerous to say, because the fake news is up there all over the place, and when I joke… I learned early on, don’t be sarcastic in politics.”

So his threesome joke was shared widely across social media platforms, with tons of people leaving comments like, “What???”
Even though he said he was joking, people still found it really weird and offensive, especially because they also recalled the comments he’s made about his daughters in the past. “He said the the thing he has in common with her daughter in sex,” one critic wrote. “He now wants to have a threesome with his sons. This guy is weird AF.”
Another person questioned why Trump’s speeches always have to be so “nasty” and “raunchy.”
Although Trump has been saying questionable things for years now, some people think he’s becoming increasingly unhinged, which has exacerbated the dementia rumors. “Trumps dementia is advancing and his thoughts are starting to come through unfiltered,” a commenter wrote.
A few people also questioned whether he was forgetting about one of his sons. “Ok that’s gross and all,” someone commented. “Also, he has 3 sons. So either he doesn’t remember, he can’t count, or one of them isn’t beautiful.”
