Amanda Bynes Is Released From The Hospital Weeks After Being Place On 72-Hour Psych Hold

Amanda Bynes was all over the place in the '90s and early '00s. She worked hard on TV shows such as What I Like About You and several movies. Her messy personal life has played out publicly. Amanda struggles with addiction and mental health challenges. She was under a personal conservatorship overseen by her parents from August 2013 to March 2022.

One year later, in March 2023, Amanda was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold. She remained in the hospital for a few weeks before being released. She is now receiving outpatient care, according to a source close to the situation.

Amanda is distancing herself from her family, according to that same source. “She hasn’t been in contact with her family for quite some time,” they told NBC News.

In March 2022, when her conservatorship was ended, she issued a statement via her lawyer, David Esquibias.

“In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter. I am excited about my upcoming endeavors — including my fragrance line — and look forward to sharing more when I can,” she stated.

Her parents supported the dissolution of the conservatorship.
