Shortly after Christmas, Larry Birkhead revealed that his daughter Dannielynn wanted Hugh Jackman for Christmas. However, “since he wasn’t available, the next best thing had to do,” Larry wrote on Instagram. He shared a photo of Dannielynn, 18, standing in front of a cardboard cutout of Hugh Jackman and holding two tickets to Hugh Jackman Live: From New York with Love.
But little did she know in that moment, her dream would come true — for real.

In an Instagram post on January 26, 2025, Larry shared footage of his daughter Dannielynn at Hugh Jackman’s show Hugh Jackman Live: From New York with Love.
“The show was packed with hits and high-energy performances that covered Hugh’s award-winning career in film, stage and beyond,” Larry wrote in the caption. “The show offered something for all ages of Jackman fans from Les Misérables to Wolverine.”
To make the experience even more special, Dannielynn met Hugh Jackman and even got an autograph and hug from him. Describing the moment, Larry wrote, “Hugh told her he was watching her enthusiasm during his performance of ‘A Million Dreams’ from the film, The Greatest Showman.” He noted that Dannielynn “was extremely excited and a bit in disbelief, when she got to actually meet him after all.”

Referring to his Christmas post featuring the Hugh Jackman cardboard cutout, Larry wrote, “From a cardboard cutout Christmas dream, to reality.”
Earlier, Larry explained that obtaining the tickets wasn’t an easy feat. “It almost didn’t happen,” he revealed. However, he was determined to get Dannielynn what she wanted for Christmas, even if it meant spending “hours” waiting to buy tickets online.
Eventually, Larry said he “was able to get front row seats and added the meet and greet option,” but when he went to actually purchase the tickets, the meet-and-greet tickets had sold out.
“Days later, when I was asking (a deflated) Dannielynn what she wanted for Christmas, she said, ‘Hugh Jackman under the tree,'” Larry wrote. Luckily, after several days, he went back and checked for tickets to the show and discovered that more were available. In addition to finally obtaining the tickets, Larry also “found her a life-size cutout of Hugh and put it under the tree.”
“Technically speaking, she got her wish, which saved Christmas,” Larry wrote at the time. “I’m just a Dad making dreams come true one day at a time.”
