A woman is raising questions after claiming that she consumed over 1,000 calories in an unusual way — by licking envelopes for her wedding invitations. When preparing for their big day, brides are often fearful about putting on extra weight that might make it hard to fit in their wedding dress. Bride-to-be Chloe Williams took to TikTok to share her surprising discovery.
The 22-year-old captioned the post, "I tried a sponge and it didn’t seal very well… yes, i did accidentally look at Britsh Stamps cals instead of envelopes."

Over the video she wrote, "I just found out that I consumed over 1,000 calories in one sitting by licking envelopes." In the clip, she's seen holding up a stack of envelopes as she wears the emotions of her realization through her facial expression. In the end, she gives a sarcastic thumbs up.
"SOMEONE EXPLAIN HOW," one bamboozled commenter demanded.
"How is that even physically possible bro ," another user said in disbelief.
Other people shared their own tips and tricks.
"I just use a glue stick," one person said.
"Lmao used a beauty blender for mine ," someone added.

As the bride-to-be wrote in her caption, she'd actually miscalculated things. She’d accidentally took the caloric value of British stamp glue — which can contain between 5.9 and 14.5 calories — instead of taking the caloric value of a US envelope glue, which is a substance known as gum Arabic.
Since the mid-2000s, FDA officials had lowered its measure to around 1.7 calories, which envelope glue experts say equates to 0.1 calories. So thankfully, that bride-to-be is out of the woods — and others know what to do when they have save the dates and invitations to take care of!
