Britney Spears’ fans are devoted and have long memories. They recently showed their support for the pop star by streaming her song “Selfish” from her 2011 Femme Fatale album, making it surpass Justin Timberlake’s new single of the same name on the charts. Britney’s fans are not too happy with Justin after learning new details about their relationship in Britney’s memoir The Woman in Me.
Perhaps because of this, Britney took to Instagram to share her support of Justin and his new music. She also apologized if she offended anyone in her memoir. It appears Britney has nothing but love for her ex.
Justin has been making the publicity rounds promoting his new music. He appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 25, 2024, and Saturday Night Live on January 27. On SNL he performed "Selfish” and a second new track “Sanctified.” It appears as if Britney was watching.
“I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry…” Britney wrote on Instagram. “I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song 'Selfish' It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard ??? Ps 'Sanctified' is wow too.”
In Britney’s memoir she revealed that she had an abortion, at Justin's request, while they were dating. Justin was not ready to be a father but Britney might have been ready to be a mom if he had been onboard. Because the couple were so well-known, they could not go to a clinic to have the procedure done. Britney took pills at home. “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,” she wrote.

Britney’s memoir also cleared up the cheating allegations that Justin implied in his “Cry Me A River” music video. She admitted she once kissed Wade Robson but Justin slept with several other women during the course of their relationship. If that wasn’t bad enough, he broke up with her via text message. It’s no wonder Britney’s fans have a hard time forgiving the guy, even if it appears that she has.
