Britney Spears is recalling the passion she and Colin Farrell once shared, even though it was a short-lived fling. In her new memoir The Woman in Me, Britney opened up about how she and the Irish actor got together after she and Justin Timberlake broke up in March 2002.
At the time, Colin was filming the 2003 film, S.W.A.T. The "…Baby One More Time" singer was 22 years old, while Colin was 26 years old at the time of their passion-filled romance, which she compared to a "street fight" in her book.
A "2-week brawl" is how their fling was described. "Brawl is the only word for it," she wrote. "We were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight.”
Yet though the passion was there, Britney was still getting over Justin and didn't want to get too attached to Colin. “As I had before when I’d felt too attached to a man, I tried to convince myself in every way that it was not a big deal, that we were just having fun, that in this case I was vulnerable because I wasn’t over Justin yet."

Colin and Britney didn't take long to share their romance publicly, however. The pop singer joined him as a his date to the premiere of his movie The Recruit in January 2003.
Colin made sure to clarify the status of their relationship during the event. "We’re not dating," he said at the premiere. "She’s a sweet, sweet girl. There’s nothing going on — just mates.”
The two did end up going back to Colin's room at LA's Chateau Marmont after the premiere, where he reportedly threw an after-party. Bryan Ulrich, a celebrity memorabilia collector, claimed to be at the after-party and said that Britney and Colin's tongues were "down each other's throats."
Still, the pop singer labeled the fling as "nothing serious." Colin even reportedly sent her some humor-filled gifts, including a T-shirt that said "I slept with Colin Farrell and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" and a bumper sticker that read "Honk if you’ve slept with Colin Farrell."
"For a brief moment in time, I did think there could be something there," Britney said of the fling. "The disappointments in my romantic life were just one part of how isolated I became. I felt so awkward all the time."
The memoir has already topped Amazon's bestsellers list. It also includes details about her and Justin's relationship, among other revelations about the singer's life that had not been formerly shared.
