Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears go way back. They both got their start on the Mickey Mouse Club as kids alongside other future stars such as Keri Russell and Justin Timberlake. They both came to pop-divahood in the 1990s and were often compared because of it.
Christina appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. The topic of Britney’s new memoir, The Woman In Me, came up and Jimmy asked if Christina believes she will be in it. Christina said she hopes not but that she wishes Britney all the best.
Jimmy first asked Christina if she thinks she will appear in the book. "Dude, I don't know. I don't know," Christina replied.
Jimmy was persistent and, like a good, host wanted to get to the bottom of this issue. He asked if she hoped to be in the book. “I don't know," she stated. "Am I hoping? I mean, I'm hoping that, you know, everything is all good with her, and everything's beautiful. I think the future should be celebrated."

Jimmy loves a good bit and kept rolling with this one. He joked he hopes to be in the memoir. Christina was a good sport and played along. "Let's put it this way," Christina mused. "I'd rather be it you than me. So hopefully you'll be in it. You'll make the book."
Christina and Britney sometimes used their “rival” status to their advantage. Who could forget the 2003 VMAs when the pair performed with Madonna and both shared the kiss with the icon? It is hard to believe that was 20 years ago.
The women have not always seen eye-to-eye, but Christina made her support for Britney known when her 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021. Christina revealed on The Enrique Santos Show in January 2022 that she would like to speak with Britney. She also respects Britney's privacy and healing journey.
"I would always be open to [speaking with Britney]," she said. "It's a subject that I definitely want to be careful of because I never want to speak out of [turn] about somebody that I have so much respect and admiration for. I couldn't be happier for her, and every woman deserves to feel empowered and to own that for themselves, however they see fit."
