What to Know
There might be other things to worry about in the world than what affliction has caused the newest rash on Donald Trump‘s skin, but can you blame people for being on Trump Health Watch 99 percent of the time? It certainly helps make the four years go by a little more easily. And after someone shared photos of Trump on X (formerly Twitter) with what appears to be a scabbing neck rash, people want to know if he has another skin disease that he won’t address.
Others are concerned the photos of Trump’s neck might not be real. But, if they are real, then it means Trump has some sort of scaly red rash on his neck that was not immediately explained to his supporters or critics. But you’d better believe that people have come up with some wild ideas of their own about why Trump’s neck looks the way it does in the photos.

People have wild theories about Donald Trump’s neck scab and rash.
In the photos on X, the user joked, “Does he have Greyscale?” This is in reference to a skin disease from the fantasy drama Game of Thrones. And, while Trump’s rash or skin condition doesn’t look exactly like the mythical disease depicted in the show, it has made his neck scaly, red, and rough all at the same time.
One user responded to the X post and speculated that Trump’s neck rash and possible scabbing is the result of an STD. Someone else wrote that Trump actually has rosacea and that the apparent rash is a result of that. Others wondered if Trump might have shingles. But mostly, people are here for more jokes at Trump’s expense because, as his critics, they really don’t owe him much more than that.
“Yeast infection (or rotting),” someone else wrote. “Many are saying Trump reeks of a dead fish.”
Another user joked, “Nah, it’s having an adverse reaction to the glue used to keep its skin suit on.” Of course those are all theories at this point, especially since Trump has not confirmed what is going on with his awful reddened neck.
Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, said, per CNN, that Trump is trying out a “preventative skin treatment.” That’s how Trump’s rash was explained away for now. But who is going to tell him that literally no one believes that’s what the rough patch of inflamed skin and scab-like lesions actually is?
Trump’s discolored hand is still a thing too.
The discoloring on Trump’s hand that was spotted by many in early 2026, even when he appeared to have makeup covering it, became a quick topic of discussion on social media when it was first seen. Later, the White House released a statement to explain why Trump’s hand appeared to have bruising on it.
According to NBC News, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement, “President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day.” Even before that, when bruises were spotted on Trump’s right hand, the official position from those in Trump’s inner circle was that it was from Trump shaking so many hands. Apparently, he just cares too much. Alright, then.
