As a parent, there is nothing more important than the safety of your child and when that safety is threatened, it can be the most excruciating pain you’ve ever experienced.
It had been an emotionally exhausting four days for Alex Grimes. His daughter, Ellie, had been missing for four days and he had no idea where she was or if he was ever going to see or hug her again.
On the day she went missing, it felt like any other day. Alex noticed that Ellie was a little late getting home after school, but he just figured that she had gone to the park with a friend. When the dinner hour came and went, that’s when Alex started to get genuinely concerned.
Alex had called the police and they were doing everything they could to try to track down Ellie, but so far they had no leads. During a moment of desperation and loneliness, Alex decided to knock on his neighbor’s door in hopes of distracting himself from his current situation.
His neighbor, Jonathan, answered his door with a sympathetic smile. He invited Alex inside but promptly asked him if he would keep his voice down and not mention Ellie’s disappearance to his daughter, Jessica, as the girls were good friends and he hadn’t told her yet.

Alex understood and agreed. Only, as he made his way into Jonathan’s home, he found himself startled by a distinct smell that was coming in through the door to the garage. Alex watched Jonathan casually lead him into his home and suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.
